Anthony "Tony" Calagiovanni's Obituary
Anthony “Tony” Calagiovanni, 102, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Van Duyn. He was born October 7, 1913 and was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. Tony was a WWII Army Veteran stationed in Hawaii during Pearl Harbor. He worked with his brother Jack at Calvert Dairy for more than 50 years, and later retired from M. Lemp Jewelers. Tony was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church.
He was predeceased by his wife Levia “Lena” (Marnell) Calagiovanni; 3 brothers; Jack, Joseph, and John and his sister Theresa Calagiovanni. Tony is survived by his niece; Jean Durkin, nephews; Michael (Rosemarie) Colagiovanni, and Richard (Alicia) Calagiovanni.
A Funeral service in celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tony’s name can be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
