Anthony Caronna's Obituary
Anthony Caronna, age 84, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013. He was a native of Bisacquino, Sicily, Italy and long-time resident of Syracuse, NY.
Mr. Caronna was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in North Syracuse, NY and also in Murfreesboro, TN. He was a retired General Laborer with the Parks and Recreations in Syracuse. He enjoyed gardening and playing bocce. Mr. Caronna loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Scalisi) Caronna; parents, Cosimo and Anna (Noto) Caronna; and two sisters.
Mr. Caronna is survived by his two sons; Cos Caronna and his wife Debbi of Murfreesboro, TN and Nick Caronna and his wife Sue of Apex, NC; six grandchildren, Kimberlie Owen and her husband Thomas of Madison, AL; Timothy Caronna of Murfreesboro, TN; Anthony Caronna of Apex, NC; Kellie Ables and her husband Justin of Antioch, TN; Stacie Caronna of Smyrna, TN, and Stephanie Caronna of Apex, NC; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Entombment service with Rev. Msgr. James Kennedy will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 10:30 am in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, NY. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF.org).
