Anthony Samuel Cordone's Obituary
Anthony S. Cordone, 73, of Port Richey, FL passed away on January 8, 2018 at the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point, Port Richey, Florida surrounded by his family.
Anthony a.k.a. “The Rock” was a lifelong resident of North Syracuse and was a graduate of North Syracuse High School.
He retired from Laborers Local 214 union and served in the Infantry Division of the U.S. Army Reserve.
Anthony was a very special person to so many with his great sense of humor and love for sports. He was especially fond of his 6 nieces and nephews and 7 great-nieces and great-nephews. We were all blessed to have known him with his beautiful smile, wonderful sense of humor, his strong faith and a love to share stories.
Tony was a loving son who helped take care of his mother and father in their later years in Florida.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Mary (DeStefano) Cordone, and his sister, Linda (Cordone) Melfi.
Anthony is survived by his siblings, Josephine Cordone (Boca Raton), Michele Cordone Johnson (Danville, CA) and Mark (Carol) Cordone (Alamo, CA).
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Anthony’s life at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
Anthony, you will be in our hearts forever and until we see you again.
