Anthony J. DeRosa's Obituary
Anthony J. DeRosa, 92, of Liverpool, passed away Saturday at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego, NY. He was born in Syracuse and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Anthony was employed with the US Postal Service for many years. He enjoyed golfing, trips to the casino, and coaching little league. Most of all, Anthony loved spending time with his family, and looked forward to Sunday dinners.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dominick and Louise (Granato) DeRosa, and six siblings.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Veronica (Tropea) DeRosa; his daughter, Anne (William) Belknap of Central Square; his son, Anthony (Caprece) DeRosa of Liverpool; five grandchildren, Jerry (Tina) Belknap, Joseph Belknap, Adrienne (Jimmy) McCraney, Alex (April) DeRosa, and Lacey Sagnella; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Annette (DeRosa) Maselli; brother-in-law, John Testone, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at St. Luke’s in Oswego for their loving care and kindness to our father and to our family during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Anthony’s life at 9:30 AM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Activities Dept., 299 E. River Rd., Oswego, NY 13126.
