Anthony J. DeSalvo's Obituary
Anthony J. DeSalvo, 92, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse to the late Pasquale and Mary (Modafferi) DeSalvo. Anthony graduated from Syracuse University and went on to teach for Jamesville-DeWitt schools for 50 years. He enjoyed playing violin, singing opera and playing cards with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Beverly Maida DeSalvo in 2003 and his siblings, Genevieve Foriero, Albert DeSalvo, Pat DeSalvo, Mary DeSalvo Donzella, Francis DeSalvo, Margaret Mollela, Virginia Aloi, John DeSalvo, Josie DiGregorio.
Anthony is survived by his children, Anthony (Wendy) DeSalvo, James (Karen) DeSalvo Racona, Mark (Teresina) DeSalvo, Joe (Valerie) DeSalvo Scordo; his grandchildren, Anthony DeSalvo, Nicole Maresca, Stephen DeSalvo, Breanna Osmun, Joseph Scordo, Marisa DeSalvo, James Racona, Taylor DeSalvo, and Bella DeSalvo; his great-grandchildren, Mia Osmun, Giuliana Maresca, Vincent Maresca, and Pablo DeSalvo; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 9:15 – 10:45 A.M. in Epiphany Parish (formerly St. Joseph the Worker Church), 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Anthony’s life at 11:00 A.M. in the church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
