Anthony "Tony" Falcone's Obituary
Anthony “Tony” Falcone, Jr., of Manlius, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Anthony Sr. and Cassandra (Matteo) Falcone. Tony attended Central High School and graduated from Syracuse University as a Chemical Engineer. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. Tony was the Founder and President of Syracuse Plastic. He served as Past President of the Dewitt Rotary Club where he enjoyed being host and pancake chef at the annual Pancake Breakfast. He also enjoyed the challenge of a round of golf with a low handicap. Tony was a real gentleman with an infectious smile and outgoing personality.
He was predeceased by his oldest son, Anthony Falcone III and his sister, Mattia (Ascioti) Falcone.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mildred (Strecker) Falcone; his daughter, Elizabeth Falcone (Burt Wadas); his son, Daniel Falcone (Tim Stout); daughter-in-law, Dr. Jacqueline Bunce; two brothers, Dr. Alfred (Francois) Falcone and Joseph (Helen) Falcone; along with many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 12, 2016 in St. Ann’s Church, Manlius. Interment will follow in Manlius Village Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
