Anthony N. Fiumara's Obituary
Anthony N. Fiumara, 75, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Anthony and Mary (Romano) Fiumara. Anthony served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was a Sign Foreman with the Onondaga County Highway Department, retiring after 25 years of service. Anthony was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed traveling and hunting, and especially loved spending time at his home on Cayuga Lake. Family was most important to him, as well as his beloved pets, his rescue bird Paulie, and his dog Nate.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Delilah (Foster) Fiumara; three children, Melisa (Robert) Holden of Buffalo, Anthony (Christine) Fiumara of Rochester, and Luke Fiumara of Syracuse; three grandchildren, Daisy Holden, Anthony Fiumara, and Adrianna N. Fiumara; two sisters, Patricia McMahon of Syracuse and Teresa Dubik of Cazenovia, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Calling Hour will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Anthony’s life at 1:00 PM in Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave., Syracuse. Entombment will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
