Anthony "Tony" Italiano's Obituary
Anthony (Tony) Italiano entered into rest on Wednesday reuniting with his much cherished children, Gregory Italiano, 2010 and Sindy Italiano Lakehomer, 1985. Anthony was born in Calabria Italy, immigrated to the United States in 1936 with his mother, Assunta to join his father, Patsy Italiano. Anthony was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The owner of a myriad of businesses in the Syracuse area he took great pride in his involvement with the business community. He owned, developed and operated multiple businesses, one of his proudest accomplishments was the acquisition of the Imperial Gardens Apts. on James Street in 1966. Anthony carries one of the oldest active liquor license in New York State and was active in his businesses, at his office on James Street daily until his death. Anthony is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 64 years, Eve M. (Russell) Italiano; a daughter, Mary Sue (John) Hanus of Manlius; a son, Patsy Italiano II of Syracuse; 7 grandchildren, Heather (Robert) Santaro, John Hanus III, Anthony Italiano, Angelique (Brian) DeLaney, Tiffany Lakehomer, Alissa Italiano and John Eric Lakehomer; 3 great-grandchildren, Raquel Santaro, Taetum DeLaney and Tyler DeLaney. Funeral Services will be private. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
