Anthony P. Lizzio's Obituary
Anthony P. Lizzio, 92, passed away on February 26, 2018. He was born in Syracuse, NY. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Liverpool, NY. He worked for the Liverpool School District.
Anthony served in the Navy during WWII on board the USS Wayne. His ship was involved in seven invasions in the Pacific theater. Anthony and his son Tony together proudly attended the honor flight in April of 2015. He loved gardening, painting, playing cards, dancing and socializing with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved life.
Anthony was predeceased by his wife, Jennie S. (Rossi) Lizzio, son, David J. Lizzio, grandson, John “little John” Lizzio, sister Mary Renne, 2 brothers Patrick “Pasquale” Lizzio, and Thomas Lizzio and his daughter in law Debbie Lizzio. He is survived by his children: Joanne (George) Hasto, North Syracuse, Anthony (Leah) Lizzio of Fayetteville, Michael (Denise) Lizzio of Liverpool, John Lizzio of N.C. and James Lizzio, LaFayette N.Y. Several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, his sister Catherine Prince and longtime friend and companion Barbara Gialto.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 A.M. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Anthony’s life at 9:00 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool, Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, N.Y.
