Anthony J. Morgese's Obituary
Anthony J. Morgese, of Liverpool, N.Y passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday November 15, 2024. He was 91 years old.
Anthony was Born in Bari (Monopoli), Italy on February 15, 1933, to Vito and Anna (Palmitessa) Morgese. The family moved back to NYC in 1936. On May 3, 1953, Anthony was drafted to the US Army (Korean War) as a Sargeant E5 where he received an Honorable discharge on April 23, 1955.
He then moved to Syracuse, N.Y., where he met the love of his life Maryanne J. Paratore. They got married in 1957. Anthony and Maryanne moved to Liverpool in January 1965 where they then raised four children. He worked in the Automobile repair business for years until taking a job as an Insurance Damage Appraiser, retiring in 1998.
Anthony loved his family and friends and his Italian heritage. He was a member of the Italian American Athletic Club since 1967. He enjoyed hunting, softball, golf and bocce. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his wife, Maryanne (Paratore) Morgese in 1981; sister, Delores Ack; brother, Vito Morgese, and brother, Leonard Morgese.
Anthony is survived by his four children: Carol (Doug) VanLeuvan, Gina Morgese, Anthony Morgese, Jr, and Angela Guarasce; two grandchildren: Anthony Morgese -Merola III, and Dominick Guarasce; brother, Joe (Joan) Morgese, brother-in-law, Roy (Ellen) Paratore, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Anthony’s life at 11:00 am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Rt. 31, Baldwinsville, NY. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
