Anthony Joseph "Tony" Nicoletti 's Obituary
Anthony Joseph “Tony” Nicoletti, 85, passed away on November 11, 2019 at Francis House in Syracuse, NY.
He is predeceased by his parents, Carmella (Scalise) and Serafino Nicoletti; his brothers and sisters, Filomena, Angela, Mary, Vince, Rose, and Joseph; and his son, Dino Nicoletti.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maria Nieves Nicoletti; his brother, Nicholas Mangicotti; his sister, Justina Cahill; his first wife, Onorita Chebiniak; his children, Carmel (Karl) Nicoletti, Tony (Pamela) Nicoletti, Dona (Michael) Watkins, MarySusan (Daniel) Nicoletti-Watson, Lisa (Chuck) Samkoff, and Eric Ianuzi; his grandchildren, Mario, Antonia, Angelo, Seth, Miranda, Carly, Victoria, Cirro, Sloane, Ethan, Ashton, and Caitlin; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Anthony was born in Ira, NY and was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was an usher at North Central Church on Buckley Rd.
Anthony was the owner and operator of Nicoletti’s Custom Kitchens for over 40 years, where he and his sons, Dino and Tony, designed and fabricated beautiful woodwork.
He had a great sense of humor, accompanied by a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Anthony was a kind, loving, and generous man freely giving of himself to anyone in need. He coached Little League, the Babe Ruth baseball program in Cato, NY, worked with the Webelo Scouts, and sponsored the championship winning Nicoletti’s Custom Kitchens’ Girls Softball team.
Anthony was devoted to his family, made great sauce, and loved raising pigs. He will be dearly missed.
Family and friends may call on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 4 to 7 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A funeral service in celebration of Anthony’s life will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Funeral Home with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Anthony spent his life helping others; in lieu of flowers, please honor him with a donation to a charity of your choice.
