Anthony E. Scala's Obituary
Anthony E. Scala of Syracuse, N.Y. age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 30th, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital . Anthony was born in Auburn, N.Y. on Oct, 16, 1924 to Natale and Rose Scala. He was married on April 14, 1945 to Mary Scala. They raised three children and have seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He served in the Navy during WWII as a medic and was a fireman for the S.F.D. for over 20 years. He enjoyed sports and spending time with his family. Anthony was a WWII soldier and survivor, one of the last of a dying breed. A career fireman, leader and protector of his family and friends. Anthony was loved by all and will truly be missed.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife Mary, three children Nick Scala (Jan), Roseanne Gadaleta (Dino), and Anthony Scala (Carole). Seven grandchildren; John Gadaleta, Anthony Gadaleta, Connie Gadaleta-Nash, Jeff Scala, Mike Scala, Anthony Scala and Courtney Scala. Five great -grandchildren; Dusty and Jamie Gadaleta, Julia Nash, Jack and Leon Scala-Gagnon, and one great-great grandchild Dakota Sass. Services are private.
