Mr. Anthony "Tony" Scarcella's Obituary
Mr. Anthony "Tony" Scarcella, age 82, of Cicero, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Giuseppe & Carmella (Costa) Scarcella. He left East Syracuse High School during his senior year to join the Army, and was employed by various automotive dealerships, working as body shop manager for Romano Oldsmobile until health concerns prompted an early retirement. Anthony is survived by his wife Shirley (Francoeur ) Scarcella, Two daughters Tracy (Jeff) Lyman, of Central Square and Lynda (Bill ) Close, of Liverpool. (5) Grandchildren: Lisa, Michelle, Renee, Jessica & Jeffrey. A sister Rose DeVita of Minoa, and several nieces, nephews and cousins, his canine companion Charlie. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Tony's funeral service on Wednesday morning at 10:00 A.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY with a burial service to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to either the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
