Anthony J. "Tony" Squadrito's Obituary
Anthony J. “Tony” Squadrito, 73, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Spadafora Sicily Italy, son of the late Jerome and Santa (Saya) Squadrito. Tony was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany. He worked as a longtime general contractor for several local construction companies. Tony was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and Syracuse sports. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Above all, he loved spending time with family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren.
He is predeceased by two sisters, Tommasa Wise and Frances Hamilton, and his brother, Carmen Squadrito.
Tony is survived by the love of his life and mother of his children, Shirley A. Nicholson; two daughters, Dina (Eryc) Dykes and Tina (Doug) Squadrito; two grandchildren, Eryc Dykes II and Maya Bagué; a great-grandson, Dante A. Dykes; two sisters, Connie DeStefano and Phyllis DiFrancesco; his aunt and uncle, Angela and John Berardi; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 3:45 – 5:45 pm, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Tony’s life at 6 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at 11am on Thursday, April 11, 2024 in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
