Anthony J. Tangredi's Obituary
Anthony J. Tangredi, 86, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday at Crouse Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse and was a U.S. Army veteran during WWII, serving from 1945 -1951. Anthony was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a life-time member of the American Legion Post 41 and American Legion Pulaski Post 1650. Anthony loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Norma (Omolino) Tangredi in April, 2015; his parents, Anthony and Rose (Conti) Tangredi; four brothers and one sister.
Anthony is survived by his five children, Joseph (Mary) Tangredi of Syracuse, Dawn (Gary) Kantak of Cortland, Anthony J. Tangredi of North Syracuse, Barbara (Edward) Calkins of Cicero, and James R. (Jeanne) Tangredi of East Syracuse; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Patricia) Tangredi; sisters, Edith (Thomas) Kaufman, Mary Jane (Dutch) Gratien, and Gloria (Phil) Rizzo, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Anthony’s life at 9:00 AM in St. Daniel’s Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
