Antoinette DeAngelo's Obituary
Antoinette (Iacuone) DeAngelo, 95, of North Syracuse, passed away Friday at Malta Manor. She was born on June 3, 1917 in Rome, NY to Giuseppe and Congettina Iacuone before the family moved to Syracuse. Several years later, she met and married George DeAngelo, they enjoyed 52 years together until his passing in 1989. She was also predeceased by her parents; brothers, Salvatore, Joseph, Aldo and Mario as well as her sister, Jean Massimiani. Antoinette was employed at General Electric, retiring in 1979 with over seventeen years of service. Socially, she was a member of the Columbiettes as well as several societies at her church, Our Lady of Pompei. She especially enjoyed the times that she and her husband George spent with three other couples who were their close friends. They played cards, snacked often and always had a good time. They named their club, The Eight is Enough Club. Antoinette's main focus, however, was always on family. There was nothing more important to her than the welfare of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters. She was always there to provide comfort and support to all who needed it in difficult times. Antoinette is survived by her three sons and their wives, David (Kathleen), Anthony (Jackie) and George (Joanne); seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sisters, Elvira Petragnani, Dora (Frank) Settineri, Rose LaMontagne, Norma (Frank) Safin and Donna Lou (Norman) Kreitzer; sisters-in-law, Rita Iacuone and Patricia Iacuone along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00
