Antoinette Marie DeVivo's Obituary
Antoinette Marie DeVivo passed away on Saturday at the age of 96 at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. Ann was born November 27, 1918 in Syracuse, NY, daughter of Frank and Angeline (Chiavitti) Carioggia. She met her childhood sweetheart, Joseph DeVivo, at age 14 and they married May 11, 1940.
She worked at Dey Brothers Department Store (Macy's) in the women's foundation department for several years as a corsetiere and loved her job. .
Ann was predeceased by her loving husband of 75 years, Joseph, her sisters, Eleanor and Grace and her brothers, Kenneth and Carmen.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Jr., spouse Donna, daughter, Joanne, who lives in Houston, TX. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Debra Ann
Gallegos, spouse Mark, Dawn Marie Froman, spouse Jay and four great-grandchildren.
A very special thanks to Valerie Taylor, her longtime caretaker, Marie Cullen, lifetime family friend, Eileen Nicholson (Patty ) and the caring nursing staff at St. Camillus.
A funeral mass in celebration of Antoinette's life will be held at Noon on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. A calling hour for family and friends will be held from 10:45 am to 11:45 am on Wednesday at the church, 301 Ash Street, Syracuse, NY. THOMAS J. PIRRO JR.
