Antoinette (Scarcella) Pugliese's Obituary
The family of Antoinette Pugliese, 91, sadly announces her recent passing on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 with family at her side.
She was born on November 22, 1925 in Palmi, Italy to Carmella and Rocco Scarcella. Antoinette married Antonio Pugliese on July 3, 1954 and together they moved to Syracuse, NY where their three children were born and raised. Antoinette worked as a seamstress at Learbury’s for many years.
She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Antoinette will live on forever in the hearts and minds of the people she touched. She loved to cook for family and friends and that was greatly appreciated by all. We thank her for being the love of our family.
Antoinette is survived by her husband, Antonio Pugliese as well as her children, Rocky (Maria) Pugliese, Anthony (Lily) Pugliese, and Mary Zelinsky (Dale Lawton); she was also a “Nana” to seven grandchildren; three brothers, Frank (Carmella) Scarcella, Vince Scarcella, and Joseph (Marie) Scarcella, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Antoinette’s life at 10:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
