Antonia "Toni" Gutow's Obituary
Antonia (Toni) Gutow, 89, of Liverpool, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. She was born in Piraeus, Greece, immigrated to the States in 1955, maintaining ties to the community and to Greece. She was a lifelong Orthodox Christian.
Antonia was powerful, witty, clever, feisty, loving and full of life. She will be in the hearts of her children, family and friends and everyone who had the chance to love her.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, William Gutow in 2004.
Survivors include children, Yiannis Gutow and Nancy Nassia Gutow; son-in-law,
Lorenzo Gabriele; her loving sister, Voula Plavoukos; nephews, Lee, Spero (Cassandra), and James Plavoukos; great-nieces and nephews, and dear friends, the Mtanos Family.
A funeral service in celebration of Antonia’s life will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 15, 2016 at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church, 325 Waring Rd., Syracuse, NY 13224. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME is handling funeral arrangements.
