Antonio Petrulla's Obituary
Antonio “Tony” Petrulla, 70, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Van Duyn Home and Hospital. He was born in Melicucca`, Italy, the son of the late Domenico and Maria (Bugge) Petrulla. Antonio was an auto mechanic who owned and operated Swedish Auto in Syracuse before Europa Garage in North Syracuse. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening and cooking. He also enjoyed watching Formula 1 Auto Racing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Antonio is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Pina (Riverso) Petrulla; his son, Dominic (Marina) Petrulla of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Anthony and Isabella Petrulla; his brother, Pasquale Petrulla of Kirkville, NY; his sister, Lorenza Galimi of Syracuse, along with many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in law.
Antonio’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff at Van Duyn for their care and compassion over the past 3 years.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Antonio’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
