Antonio Pugliese's Obituary
The family of Antonio Pugliese, 92, sadly announces his recent passing on early Sunday morning, May 24, 2020 surrounded with the outpouring of thoughts, prayers and love from his family and friends. Antonio was born on January 8, 1928 in Palmi, Italy to Maria (Pecora) Pugliese and Antonio Pugliese. On July 3, 1954 he married his loving wife Antionette Scarcella and they were together until her passing in February 2017.
Antonio’s trade was a bricklayer/mason in which he was a master of his work. One of his proudest accomplishments is the brick arches located in the lobby of St. Joseph’s Hospital. He perfected the technique on how to get the bricks to create such a curved archway when others could not. His work can also be seen on some high-end homes on Skaneateles Lake.
He and his wife spent many years going to their home in Hallandale, Florida which they loved and where many of their friends were like family to them. While in Florida Antonio enjoyed fishing, gambling, and going to the horse racing track. He had an immense love for his family, and an admiration for all animals.
His wife, children and grandchildren were the absolute loves of his life. Antonio was such a loving, caring, and amazing husband, father, and grandfather to us all. The memories he gave to both family and friends and the love he shared with us will be forever in our hearts. No words will ever describe how much he is already missed. We Love You.
In addition to his loving wife and parents, Antonio is predeceased by 2 brothers, Martino and Guiseppe Pugliese and most recently by 2 brothers-in-law, Frank and Vincent Scarcella.
Antonio is survived by 3 children, Anthony (Lily) Pugliese, Mary (Dale Lawton) Zelinsky and Rocky (Maria) Pugliese; a ”Nono” to 7 grandchildren, Rocky Pugliese II, Brennon Pugliese, Tonio Pugliese, Brianna (David Tessier) Zelinsky, Anthony Zelinsky, Sierra Zelinsky and Tricia Pugliese; sisters, Carmella Scarcella and Rose (Joe) Musolino; brother-in-law, Joseph (Marie) Scarcella and many nieces and nephews.
