Armerinda “Mindy” (Mazza) Pucine, 87, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully, with her adored daughter, Anne, by her side at Upstate University Hospital on Sunday, July 28, 2024. She was born in Utica to the late Teofilio and Angeline (Longo) Mazza.
Mindy worked at New York Telephone Company in Utica, NY after she graduated high school and later moved to Syracuse, NY and worked for General Electric. In 1968 she was blessed with a daughter, and she became a full time, stay at home mother.
She returned to the workforce in 1984 and worked as a claim processor for Nationwide Insurance Company.
Mindy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, affectionately known as “Nonnie.” She loved and cared for her family immensely and often said the best years of her life was when she retired to watch her 2 grandchildren.
Over the last 5 years, she has enjoyed dinners and visiting the casino with her companion, Fran Benedetto.
One of her greatest pastimes was watching the stock market, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family, especially her devoted daughter, Anne. She will be sadly missed by many of her family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, William “Bill” Pucine in 2019, and her siblings, Joseph (Peppy) Mazza, Gloria LoConte (Andy LoConte), Kathleen Lapertosa (Frank Lapertosa), and James Mazza (Sharon Mazza).
She is survived by her children, Anne Mania, and her husband, Corey Wood; her grandchildren, Alyssa and Ethan Mania; her siblings, Loretta Pugliese, Antoinette Coleman, and William Mazza; her companion, Fran Benedetto; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to sincerely thank her nephew, Andy LoConte, for all of his thoughtfulness and assistance over the years.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 10:30 – 11:30 A.M. immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Mindy’s life at 11:30 A.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR.
