Assunta "Sue" (Gallucci) Lembo's Obituary
Assunta “Sue” (Gallucci) Lembo, 82, of Liverpool, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on August 31, 1936 in Foggia, Italy to her beloved mother Lucia Gallucci. Sue married John Bruno Lembo on June 4, 1966 and he survives.
Sue now rests peacefully with her beloved son, Donato “Dan” Lembo and mother Lucia Gallucci and is survived by her daughter, Lucia “Toni” Lembo-Baron (Thomas) of Liverpool; one granddaughter, Alicia Lembo and two grandsons, Joseph and Michael Baron; one brother, John Gallucci (Maria) of Knightly, England; one sister, Angela Lembo (Bruno) of Milan, Italy, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sue moved to England when she was 16 where she met her husband, John Lembo, a U.S. Army veteran. She then moved to the United States and settled on the North Side of Syracuse eventually moving to Liverpool in 1971. Sue spent 30 years working at Learbury’s as a seamstress, retiring in 1996. She loved to cook her sauce and meatballs and would feed everyone that came through the door. Sue has been a fighter her whole life whose strength carries on through everyone that knew her.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 9 – 11 am, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Assunta’s life at 11 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CNY Alzheimer’s Association, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
