August Corso's Obituary
August Corso, 88, of Camillus, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 10, 2025. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Anthony Corso and Susan (Campolito) Montgomery. August proudly served in the U.S. Army, and Naval Reserves. He worked at Syracuse China, retiring after over 40 dedicated years. During retirement, he volunteered at Carpenters Brook Fish Hatchery. August was an avid SU sports fan and loved hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with family at camp in Sackets Harbor.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife, Bernice in 2002 and his second wife, Marlene in 2008; three sisters, Grace Keeler, Emily Dalessandro, and Rosemary Warren.
August is survived by his children, Anthony (Maria) Corso, James Corso and Cynthia (Mark) D’Arrigo; his beloved grandchildren, Alec (Doni) Corso, Paige (Sean) Larkin, Vincent (Rachel) D’Arrigo, Anna D’Arrigo, Sophia (John) Lisi and Gabriela (James) Corso; his step-granddaughter, Emily (Maria) Jones; his cherished great-granddaughter, Colette Larkin; two sisters, Jean (Rex) Ray and Georgia Johnson, along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass in celebration of August’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 14, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Church, Camillus. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. Family and friends may call from 3:00 – 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
