Barbara (Calabria) Cavallaro's Obituary
Barbara C. (Calabria) Cavallaro, 90, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Wednesday in the James Square Health & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Nistico) Calabria. Barbara was formerly employed with Muench Kreuzer Candle Co. She loved baking, cooking and working in the garden.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Cavallaro in 2011; her brothers, Orlando, Frederick and Rinaldo Calabria and sisters, Yolanda Rosati, Sally Cavallaro and Mary Mannino.
Barbara is survived by her children, Judith (Patrick) Kennedy of Liverpool, James Cavallaro (Barbara Phillips) of Bellingham, WA, and Joseph (Francesca) Cavallaro of Leesburg, VA; six grandchildren, Patrick Kennedy, Christina (Stephen) Mule’, Joseph, Alyssa, Catherine, and Michael Cavallaro; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ryder Mule’; brother-in-law, Louis Rosati, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Barbara’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
