Barbara R. (Loguidice) Detran's Obituary
Barbara R. (Loguidice) Detran, 97, of Cicero, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023 at Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Augustine and Marie (Laguzza) Loguidice and was raised in Syracuse before moving to Cicero. Growing up, Barbara spent the spring and summer working for her family’s onion farm in Canastota. She was mainly a stay-at-home mom, but also worked as a seamstress for her brother’s Awning Mart. Barbara was a long-time communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Cicero and loved to bowl, play bocce and Bingo, and sew for her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed spending time with her family and pets, especially caring for her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is predeceased by her husband, Frank Detran, whom she was blessed with a beautiful marriage of 68 years, as well as her sister, Frances Albino and her brothers, Augustine and Frank Loguidice.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Detran (Jim Liadka); her son, Frank Detran; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to especially thank the Albino family and Jim Liadka for all their love and support.
Visitation will take place from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, October 23, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Barbara’s life at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero, with entombment in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt.
