Barbara A. (Manzi) Milazzo's Obituary
Barbara A. (Manzi) Milazzo, 74, of Syracuse, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 1, 2015. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late August and Giacinta (Lampreda) Manzi. Barbara retired from Our Lady of Pompei School after working for several years at Dey Brothers. She volunteered at the Francis House, Syracuse Stage and St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was also a member of the St. Theresa Society. Barbara enjoyed playing cards and bocce ball, cooking family dinners and spending time with her family, especially beach vacations in Wildwood and Bethany Beach. She also enjoyed being at her grandchildren’s activities and most of all, being a devoted wife, mother and grandma.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Joseph G. Milazzo in 2012 and her brother, Joseph Manzi.
Barbara is survived by her three daughters, Sharon M. (Rick) Monroe, Lori M. (Christopher) Fletcher and Jodi L. (Thomas) Baker, all of Onondaga Hill; eight grandchildren, Nicole and Colin Monroe, Joseph, Timothy and Michael Fletcher, Annie, Tommy and Elizabeth Baker; three sisters, Mary Ann Felicia, Antoinette (Danny) Ventresca and Rose Ilacqua, all of Syracuse; her sister-in-law, Florence Manzi, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Barbara’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
