Barbara Jean (Reale) Piraino's Obituary
Barbara Jean (Reale) Piraino, 88, of Liverpool, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on September 8, 2020. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Speach) Reale. Barbara was a graduate of North High School. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics, sewing, cooking, playing cards, spending time with her family at camp, and her favorite pastime, trips to the casino.
She is predeceased by her husband, Martin P. “Marty” Piraino, Sr. in 2015; 2 brothers, Lewis “Ted” Reale and Joseph Reale, Jr., and a sister, Rosemary Paduana.
Barbara is survived by 4 sons, Martin (Melanie) Piraino, Jr., of St. Louis, MO, Peter (Anne) Piraino of Liverpool, Michael Piraino (Catherine Fuoco) of Central Square, Lewis (Terry) Piraino of Syracuse, and her only daughter, Barbara Jean Wirickx of Syracuse; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Noreen (Michael) Falcone; brother-in-law, Leonard Paduana; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to her loving caregivers, Melody, Cindy, Karen, and Zoe.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Barbara’s life at 2 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of CNY or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
