Beatrice I. (Rayo) Butler's Obituary
Beatrice I. (Rayo) Butler, 98, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at Crouse Hospital on Thursday, July 29, 2021. She was born in East Syracuse to the late Michael and Carmella (Briguglio) Rayo. She was always hard at work and held various jobs with General Electric, Butler’s Market, and was a Corporate Officer for TLC Emergency Medical Services. Beatrice enjoyed golfing and bowling in her spare time and loved to cook for her family and friends. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and card games with her friends on Thursdays.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, William J. Butler, Sr. in 1998 and her brother, Peter Rayo in 2018.
Beatrice is survived by her sons, William Butler, Jr. and David Butler, Sr. (Nancy Passafiume); grandchildren, William (Billy Jo) Butler III, Suzanna Butler, and David Butler, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Cassidy Wilder and David Butler III; her siblings, Ida Tagliaferri, Mary Callisto, Frank (Chickie) Rayo, Joseph Rayo, Michael (Donna) Rayo and Anna Marie (James) Alexander; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, and 11 am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Liverpool. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 4 – 7 pm at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home, Dr. Berkery, Dr. Iannolo, Dr. Jorolemon, Dr. Landsberry, Nurse Donna Lennox, the ER staff at Crouse Hospital, and the EMTs and paramedics at TLC EMS for their outstanding care.
