Bernard "Bernie" Paestella's Obituary
Bernard “Bernie” Paestella, 89, of Liverpool, passed away Monday at the Francis House surrounded by his loving family. A native of Herkimer, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Bernie was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and loved his trips to Speculator in the Adirondack Mountains. He was also an avid NY Yankee fan. Bernie was a Job Superintendent with Santaro Industries for over 30 years, retiring in 1988.
Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Corrine (Lutz) Paestella; his children, Richard (Janice) Paestella of Florida, Patricia (Wayne) Murphy of Liverpool, Linda (Jack) McCarthy of California and John Paestella of Liverpool; six grandchildren, Billy (Cheryl), Wayne (Nicole), Jessie, Wendy (Jason), Mandy and Missy; two great-grandchildren, Teaghan and Kaden along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO, JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Bernie’s life at 10:00 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse.
