Bernice R. "Bunny" (Bersani) Cassidy's Obituary
Bernice R. “Bunny” Cassidy, 64, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Ernest and Marion (Bush) Bersani. Bunny was a teacher with Syracuse City Schools, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a strong supporter of “People in Need”. Bunny cherished time spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren; she was a strong willed woman with a soft, kind heart.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Cassidy in 1998, and her brother-in-law, James Murphy.
Bunny is survived by her son, Michael P. (Heidi) Cassidy; her daughter, Bernice B. Cassidy; four grandchildren, Ariel and Belle Cassidy, Madison and Cassidy Wenzel; her brother, Ernest L. Bersani; two sisters, Sally Murphy and Rosemarie Bersani (Dennis Jendrasik); her husband’s siblings, Charles and Peggy, Sharon and Jim, Shawn, Timothy and Janet, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Bernice’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
