Betty S. Giambattista's Obituary
Betty S. (Scordo) Giambattista, 86, of Liverpool, passed away on Saturday at University Hospital. Born in Syracuse, she was a Teller and Bank Auditor with First Trust Bank for many years. Betty was a former member of the St. Therese Society at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. She was a member of the Daughters of Columbus and Salina Seniors. Betty loved gardening and was an avid, golfer and bowler, she was a member of the Brookhaven and Lyndon Golf Leagues. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony "Jumpy" Giambattista in 1991 and sisters, Jennie Scordo and Carmella Lembo. Betty is survived by her daughter, Lucille M. (J. Robert) Taranto of Victor, NY; 2 grandsons, Michael (Nicole) Taranto of Mass. and Nicholas Taranto of Virginia Beach; 2 great-grandchildren, Michael and Mia Taranto; sister, Julia (Francis) LeBlanc of E. Syracuse and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 9:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY and 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 to 6 PM.
