Betty S. Valerio's Obituary
Betty S. (Stevens) Valerio, 93, of Syracuse, passed away May 23, 2026, at Loretto Nursing Home. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late John and Gabriella (Albanese) Stevens. Betty retired from Young Insurance Agency after many dedicated years. She was a member of the Daughters of Columbus, Civic Social Club, Moose Club and Familiar Faces Lunch Club. She was a volunteer at Community General Hospital and communicant of St. Michael’s Church. Betty enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing and social activities. She loved spending time with family at her summer cottage on DeRuyter Lake.
Betty is survived by her nieces, Patricia Casler and Elizabeth Stevens; her nephew, Thomas (Nancy) Stevens; grand nephews, John, Daryl and Evan Stevens, Michael and Colleen Casler; great grand nieces, Jaycee and Mayzie.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 10 – 10:45 am at St. Michael-St. Peter Church, 4781 West Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Betty’s life at 11:00 am at the church. She will be laid to rest privately in St. Agnes Cemetery.
