Brian M. Lostumbo's Obituary
Brian M. Lostumbo, 66, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly November 2, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Anthony and Rose (Vulcano) Lostumbo. Brian held several positions, first at General Electric, then Turning Stone, Chrysler, Upstate University Hospital, and Costco. Brian loved music, movies, family card nights, breakfast outings with the Pompei crew, and spending time with his beloved children and grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Brian is predeceased by his son, Aaron Lostumbo, in 1982 and his brothers, Michael, in 2002, and Mark, in 1958.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Darlene (Lessaongang) Lostumbo; his two children, Kristin Lostumbo (Justin Barrett) and Maria Lostumbo (Sam Broscoe); three grandchildren, Declan and Stella Barrett, and Lucia Broscoe; his sister, Amiee Leestma; his brother, Marino (Sue) Lauricella; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Lostumbo family would like to thank Dr. Kumar, Dr. Prezzano, and Amy, the Patient Advocate from Hematology-Oncology Associates, for their care and support for Brian during his illness.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Brian’s life at 12:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. Brian will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
