Bruce D. Penny's Obituary
Bruce D. Penny, 79, of Clay, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Upstate University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse to the late Alexander and Anna (Demchisak) Penny and graduated from West Genesee High School in 1963. Bruce was the owner of Allied Electric since 1975 and donated his time and expertise to various organizations across Syracuse. He served as a board member for Make-a-Wish, the Boy Scouts of America, the Associated Builders and Contractors, Enable and NECA (National Electrical Contractor Association). Bruce was also a member of the Tigris Shriners and the Royal Order of Jesters.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Stuart Penny.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce (Martin) Penny; his daughter, Barbara McQueeney (Cary Barber); his sons, Michael (Garrett Heater) and Jeffrey (Kate Tyler); his grandsons, Thomas and Harrison Penny; his brother, John Penny; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A funeral service in celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
