Carl J. Haffner, Jr.'s Obituary
Carl J. Haffner, Jr., 91, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully November 5, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Syracuse, son of the late Carl J. and Marion (Norcross) Haffner, Sr., he was a proud US Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict, and then taking the Honor Flight Syracuse, Mission Eight, in 2015. Carl was a supervisor for P&C Foods for over 40 dedicated years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and most of all, spending time with his beloved children and grandchildren at any chance he could.
Along with his parents, Carl is predeceased by his wife, Angelina; two sisters, Delores Cupelo, and Judith Sweeney; son-in-law, David J. Noce; and brother-in-law, John “Jack” Bozzuto.
He is survived by his five children; Virginia A. Noce, of Baldwinsville, Carl J. Haffner III, of Syracuse, Patricia Prior, of Syracuse, Kathleen M. (Kenneth) Turcotte, of Georgia, and Deborah J. Haffner, of Syracuse; 3 grandchildren: Ryan Turcotte, Jamie Noce, and Samantha Prior, his sister-in-law, Theresa Bozzuto, of Syracuse, his GrandDog Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 9:00 A.M. in St. Daniel’s Church, 3004 Court St., Syracuse. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212.
