Carl Clifford "Clif" Schug's Obituary
Carl Clifford “Clif” Schug, 84, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at Elderwood at Liverpool surrounded by his loving family on October 29, 2021. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Carl J. and Margaret (Amos) Schug. Clif was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from Anaren Microwave after several dedicated years. Clif was a member of the Pastimes Athletic Club. He was a former high school basketball referee and avid Boston Red Sox fan. Clif enjoyed his daily visits to the YMCA and looked forward to the Wegman’s Coffee Club with all his friends. He also had a great love for German Shorthaired Pointers.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Carol A. (Brush) Schug. Clif is survived by two daughters: Kathleen Spina (Dale Rudy) and Debra (Gary) Malfitano; five grandchildren: Elizabeth, Laura, Jessica, Mitchell and Jack; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Lynn Schug; two sisters: Shirley Maryniak and Ann Hayden, along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service in celebration of Carl’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 873 Dewitt St., Syracuse, NY, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
