Carl A. Tartaglia's Obituary
Carl A. Tartaglia, 92, of Syracuse, passed away at Elderwood at Liverpool on November 23, 2018. He was born in Syracuse, NY, son of the late Anthony D. and Mary J. (Frank) Tartaglia. Carl graduated from North High School and Le Moyne College. He was employed as an accountant and retired from Carrier Corp. after 37 years. Carl then went on to volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the heart unit for many years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Pompei Church and was also a member of the IAAC. Carl had a divine spirit and was always willing to help people.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth; his son, Michael and sister, Gloria M. Tartaglia.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, Sally E. (Wadsworth) Tartaglia; his daughter, Suzanne (Steve) Hunding of Illinois; his son, Matthew E. Tartaglia of Syracuse; five grandchildren, Kristina, Madison, Michael, Alicia and Olivia.
Carl’s family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Elderwood for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Burial with Military Honors will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
The Holy Name Society will recite their ritual at 3:30 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
