Carlton D. Gunther's Obituary
Carlton D. Gunther, 84, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness surrounded by his family. He was born in Syracuse, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Carl retired from Carrier Corporation after 34 years of dedicated service and continued to work part-time until recently for the Local 200 as an Event Attendant. He loved time spent at his camp on Mink Island for 40 years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, gardening, fishing, and was an avid reader. Carl will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Damon and step-father, Daniel Rothschild.
Carl is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth A. (Mitchell) Gunther; three children, Lori O’Neil, Linda (John) Catanzaro, and David Gunther; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Per Carl’s request, there will be no funeral services.
