Carmela (Gentile) Avicolli's Obituary
Carmela (Gentile) Avicolli, 88, of Brewerton, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Isernia, Italy in 1930, to the late Michele Arcangelo and Mariantonietta (Angiolilli) Gentile, and later met the love of her life, Antonio. Carmela and Antonio started a new life together, immigrating to Brooklyn, NY in 1972 and finally settling in Liverpool in 1988. Carmela enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Avicolli and two daughters, Luciana Avicolli and Elvira Perez.
Carmela is survived by her two sons, Nick (Carla) Avicolli of Brewerton and Fabrizio Avicolli of Liverpool; her daughter, Olimpia (Nick) Tribuzio of Brooklyn; nine grandchildren, Gianni, Massimiliano, Vanessa, Brianna, Nicholas, Alyssa, Antonio, Bianca, and Gaspare-Martino; three brothers, Carmelo Gentile, Cosimo Gentile, and Damiano (Michelina) Gentile; two sisters, Lucia Dilemme and Anna (Celestino) Iadisernia; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 9:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Carmela’s life at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM.
