Carmelina (Lepiane) Salvino's Obituary
Carmelina (Lepiane) Salvino, 80, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Calabria, Italy and moved to Syracuse in 1968. Carmelina was employed with Learbury’s for 25 years and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. She enjoyed cooking and baking and loved spending time with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Philomena (Sposato) Lepiane; her siblings, Saverio Lepiane, Vincenzo (Fiorenza) Lepiane, Theresa (Vincent) Amato, and Mary (Antonio) Fiorino; her dear cousin, Frank (Irene) Albino; two nephews, Maurizio Lepiane and Giuseppe Fiorino.
Carmelina is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Antonio Salvino; her son, Leonardo A. Salvino of Syracuse; her daughter, Lucia M. Salvino of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the nurses from floor 2-5 at St. Joseph’s Hospital for all their compassion and care of our mother. Also special thanks to Dr. Fuleihan and his staff of New York Heart Center for all their care over the past 20 years.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Carmelina’s life at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
