Carmen Victor Canino III's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmen Canino, 61, of Liverpool, NY. Carmen passed away after a prolonged illness on July 6, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born on October 12,1963 in Syracuse to Carmen and Fortunata Canino.
Carmen was employed at CenterState CEO. He was a loving person, touching the lives of many with his warmth, humor and kindness. Carmen was known for his cooking – his chicken cutlets were one of his more memorable dishes.
Carmen and the love of his life, Ellen, were former classmates at Liverpool High School. Although married for only a few years, the two soul mates were meant to be together. Carmen and Ellen loved vacationing on Fourth Lake in the Adirondacks.
Carmen will be sorely missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Carmen was predeceased by his father, Carmen Victor Canino II. He is survived by his mother, Fortunata (Mary) Lorenzo Canino; his wife, Ellen (Renihan) Canino; stepdaughter, Sarah Tomasino; three sisters: Antoinette (James) Spina, Maria (August) Wassner, and Tina (Daniel) Walker; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rosemary Hurd, a long-time family friend, had a special place in Carmen's heart. She is like a sister to Carmen and Ellen and has provided health-care support and company to Fortunata for many years.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors at St. Joseph's Hospital Pulmonary and Intensive Care Units who provided tremendous care, compassion and professionalism to Carmen and his family.
Calling hours will be at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd, (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Carmen's life at 12:30 pm. Private burial will take place in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Mausoleum.
