Carmen V. Canino Jr.'s Obituary
Carmen V. Canino, Jr., 81, of Liverpool, passed away on Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittsburgh, he lived in the Syracuse area most of his life. Carmen served in the US Army and was employed with General Electric for 38 years, retiring in 1989. He was an avid bowler and former little league coach. Carmen loved to travel and loved watching SU Basketball and the NY Yankees. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Giovanna Lorenzo. Carmen is survived by his loving wife, Fortunata "Mary" (Lorenzo) Canino; 4 children, Antoinette (James) Spina of Clay, Maria A. (August) Wossner of Illinois, Tina M. (Daniel) Walker of Georgia and Carmen V. Canino, III of Liverpool; 6 grandchildren, Lynn and Lisa Spina, Erika and Marissa Wossner, Michael and Danielle Walker; 1 great-granddaughter, Devynn Homer; sister, Fanny Gidari of Syracuse; brother-in-law, Frank Lorenzo; also many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 8:30 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY and 9:30 AM in Christ the King Church, Liverpool with Rev. John V. Ahern officiating. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
