Carmen J. Lazzaro, Sr.'s Obituary
Carmen J. Lazzaro, Sr., 88, of Liverpool, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014 with all his loving children by his side at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran. Carmen was a truck driver with Acme Markets and retired from New Penn Trucking in 1992. He was a long time member of the Camillus Elks Lodge 2367. Carmen was also an avid western film enthusiast. He was a self-made man and taught himself carpentry and mechanics.
He is predeceased by his wife, Marjorie M. (Layo) Lazzaro in 2012 and several siblings.
Carmen is survived by his five children, Robert J. (Barbara) Lazzaro of Bridgeport, Carmen J. (Sandra) Lazzaro of Liverpool, Paul D. (Agnes) Lazzaro of Brewerton, Anna Mae (Charles) Scuderi of North Syracuse and Deborah Ann Lazzaro of Syracuse; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Joseph (Josephine) Lazzaro of Syracuse; three sisters, Frances Cashier of Syracuse, Lucille (Ronald) Gatto of Utica, and Marguerite (Anthony) Dichiera of Utica; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carmen’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Dr. Harold Husovsky and his entire staff for their care and compassion over the past several years.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Carmen’s life at 9:30 am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Liverpool. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
