My memories of Carmen are deep and personal as are those of so many who knew him well. I met him in the 70s and although decades have passed he has remained an unforgettable character full of life and love. RIP old friend.

Carmen was a kind, gentle person who led an amazing life. He told me that when he was 18, he packed his bag and went to New York City, where he knocked on the door of the Vidal Sassoon Academy and said, "I'm here." The rest is history. He was a true artist -- he loved my wild unruly hair and somehow always made it beautiful. He was an artist in life too, with a fine sensitivity to the people and places around him. I won't forget how he helped me when my own parents were nearing the end of life. It was a privilege to know him.

I met Carmen through my friend Don(Doc) Trabold years ago in Skaneateles where we all resided. He became a good friend and companion. He, Doc and I frequently went out together and enjoyed many nights and days in each other's company. We always had fun and Carmen always had a good thing to say about someone. He will be missed greatly.
My sincere sympathies and prayers are with Carmen and all of his family. He will be missed! Carmen such a nice guy! I started to get my haircut at Carlos in 1995 and still do! Sixty- one years ago, at the age of five, I met the most wonderful man and human that I would ever know and have the joy of saying, "I love you Carmen". Jumping up in the chair in the child's bumper seat he made me feel special with my Pixie cut. He was there to help me ready for my wedding when there was no one else. I am so sad to learn of Carmen s passing. We became fast friends after meeting years ago at Ilario's Restaurant. Carmen was a class act, everyone who knew him or met him loved him. He made the world a better place just by his presence and friendship. I will cherish his memory always remember what he always told me. "Life is precious in moments" so enjoy those moments my friend. Carmen knowing you and be able to call you a friend was an honor, may you rest in peace and my your loving family be comforted by all the great memories.
