Carmine A. Rieder's Obituary
Carmine A. (Sciancalepre) Rieder, 66, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. She was born in Syracuse and was the daughter of the late Mauro and Angela (Masterleo) Sciancalepre. Carmine received her master’s degree in education and was a teacher with the Erie, PA school district.
She is survived by her two sisters, Marianne (Joseph) Granteed of N. Syracuse and Maureen (Bob) Quirk of Liverpool; her former husband, Doug Rieder of Erie, PA; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Van Duyn, and the entire third floor staff for over 25 years of dedicated care of Carmine, as well as Isabella, Heather and the rest of the fifth floor staff for their extraordinary care and compassion.
A funeral service in celebration of Carmine’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmine’s name may be made to the Vera House, 6181 Thompson Rd. #100, Syracuse, NY 13206.
