Carol Ann DePietro

Carol Ann DePietro, 71, of Blossvale NY, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2025. She was born and raised in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Michael and Angie (Fragola) DePietro. She graduated from St John the Baptist Academy in 1973 and attended OCC where she received an AAS degree is Childhood education. She was in the Naval Reserve from Feb 1990 through February 1998. She worked in various positions as a computer tech, ran Liberty Bakery Too and was a licensed cosmetologist with her own salon and a detailer for Oneida Lake Marina. She stopped working after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2022. She was united in a commitment ceremony to Sharon Lee Heisey on June 8, 1996, followed by their wedding on October 14, 2008. Carol enjoyed bicycling and was an avid bicyclist. She enjoyed traveling and camping with Sharon in their RV and motor home, listening to music, reading and DIY projects at home. She was a wonderful DJ and often played for campground events and for charitable organizations, especially those close to her heart. Carol is survived by her loving wife of 29 years, Sharon Lee Heisey; her brother, Michael (Linda) DePietro of Ohio, her niece, Carrie Ann Stead and nephew, Thomas DePietro also of Ohio along with several great nephews and a great niece and a number of cousins. Carol loved animals, especially her puppy Romeo, a loveable toy poodle, Smidgeon, a terrier mix who have gone home and Peanut, her Maltipoo. Peanut is still here with us and a comfort for Sharon during these days, along with 4 newly rescued kittens this past year. Then of course there were the traveling kitties, Feisty, Bluebelle, Gabriel, Eli, Dante, Niko and Marco, all Siamese. They were so much a part of the family. They loved to travel in the RV/motor home as well. The traveling Kitties have all gone home. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 4 – 6 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A funeral Mass in celebration of Carol’s life will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Syracuse NY. At Carol’s request she will be cremated. In lieu of flowers or a memorial gift, contributions may be made to Empower Parkinson’s of Liverpool.
