Caroline (Salerno) Mercurio's Obituary
Caroline Mercurio, 93, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Loretto. She was born in Syracuse. Caroline began her employment at Flah’s Department store in 1940. She went on to work for Markson’s Furniture from 1963 to 1973, retiring from the Department of Social Services in 1989 after 15 years of service.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Mercurio in 1968 along with three brothers and a sister.
Caroline is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Caroline’s life will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:30 – 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
