Carolyn A. (Lorber) Murphy Benton's Obituary
Carolyn A. (Lorber) Murphy Benton, 72, of North Syracuse, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 11, 2014 after a courageous battle with Cancer. She was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of Liverpool High School and Contemporary School of Beauty. Carolyn was a hairdresser for over 48 years. She was a member of Pitcher Hill Community Church. Carolyn loved animals and enjoyed going to the beach. She also enjoyed traveling to many different countries throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her parents, John “Jack” and Carmella “Millie” (D’Amico) Lorber and her first husband, James M. Murphy.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 35 years, Phillip L. Benton; her son, James M. (Tracey Menapace) Murphy, II; her daughter, Jacqueline (George) Barrett; her step-daughter, Rebecca (Steve) Szulewski; her grandchildren, Alicia, Jimmy and Abby; two step-grandchildren; her sisters, Patricia (David) Canestraro and Janet Difulio, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Per Carolyn’s wishes, private funeral services were held on Thursday, August 14, 2014. THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME handled local arrangements.
