Catherine E. (Cosentino) Fantinato's Obituary
Catherine (Katie) E. Fantinato, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Crouse Hospital. Catherine, widow of Peter D. Fantinato, was surrounded by her loving children, Lisa, Paul (Jessica), Dino (Ann Sherrill) and Tricia Fantinato. Katie is also survived by her grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Catherine was a graduate of Le Moyne College, Class of 1957, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in history. Early in her career, she was a full-time teacher. Later in life, she taught multiple subjects to at risk, homebound students for the East Syracuse-Minoa school district. In addition to mentoring at-risk youth, Catherine was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Francis House and Upstate Medical Center’s Oncology Department.
Katie was an excellent cook, and she was willing to teach anyone who was interested. Katie was also always available to those in need, whether two or four-legged. She calmly and cheerfully took care of the variety of pets that her children brought home. Katie was the heart for her entire family, and she will be sorely missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew’s Church, 229 W. Yates Street, East Syracuse, NY at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021, followed by entombment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt, NY.

The immediate family would like to thank family and friends for their help as well as the Minoa EMT Team and Crouse Hospital medical staff for their care and support.
